Introduction to Factions
In Factions Remastered Edition, you will spawn in a walled off area, protected from the outside chaos. This area is bigger, and more thought out than the first game. Whilst at spawn, you'll be completely immune to damage, this includes the shop area too. Spawn protects all players (and foxes) from harm, so you have a spot to safely AFK and shop in peace. Please keep in mind, you can still be hit and will take knockback, you just won't take damage; whilst I'll do my best to ensure people don't knock you out of spawn, I can not guarentee this. Make sure to stand in a safe spot, preferably where you can't be hit out of spawn. Monsters can not enter the spawn area; if monsters attempt to enter the area, they'll be sent straight to the void! Enderpearls are deleted if they're thrown towards spawn to prevent players from teleporting into spawn without the spawn tag, and therefore not being immune to damage (and vice versa)! Some items are removed automatically, this is to make the game more fun and keep certain features working correctly, currently these are: locator maps, anvils, enchanting tables, wind charges, and ender eyes. Removed items are subject to change.
Your goal in Factions Remastered is to become the top faction, you do this by gaining wealth, fighting others, and raiding bases. This means that you need to make sure your base is well hidden, or well defended, as to not have everything stolen from you. Your base is allowed to be attacked, and raided. It's up to you to protect it, or hide it where no one will find it. Raiders, this is a good opportune moment to remind yourselves of rule 3.
All about the Factions Store
The Factions Store is available via spawn, you access it by visiting the towers. Once you've entered the store, you'll be greeted with four sections: "Fighting" (north, red), "Mining" (east, green), "Farming" (south, blue), and "Foraging" (west, yellow). The coloured blocks visible above the lava fountain in the Factions Store (and above, at spawn) indicate north (red), east (green), south (blue), and west (yellow). In each section, you'll find a collection of various items. Most items are able to be both purchased and sold. Sell items to make credits, which will allow you to then buy other items. "Credits" are a virtual currency earned through in-game activities, no real money is required.
Each item has two buttons and one pressure plate associated with it. You'll need to stand on the concrete, as close as possible (not necessarily on top of the pressure plate) to use the buttons.
The top button (orange button) allows you to check the details of the item. Once pressed, you'll be shown a message with various "purchase information" and "sell information". Under "purchase information", you'll find the item name, purchase quantity, base cost, and current cost. The "base cost" is how much it usually costs to purchase that item (at that quantity). The "current cost" is how much it'll currently cost you to purchase that item. The current cost changes every in-game day, based on the current market price. Under "sell information", you'll find the amount sold per transaction (this is always 1), profit for selling 1, and the profit for selling the purchase quantity. Profits for selling items are unaffected by market price.
The bottom button (blue/cyan/green... the oxidized copper button) will purchase that item, if you have enough credits. If you do not have enough credits, a message will display indicating this. If you do have enough credits, you'll exchange the current cost in credits for the purchase quantity of that item, and you'll be notified about the successful transaction.
Finally, the pressure plate will sell any of that item you currently have on you. Once you stand on the pressure plate, you'll start selling the items at a very fast pace (one at a time). The system will count how many items you're selling, and how much you're making from selling it. Once you step off the pressure plate, you'll stop selling the item. A message will be displayed showing how many items you sold and for how many credits you sold them for. The system sells items at a very fast rate, if there's items you'd like to keep, store them safely away before visiting the shop system.
You can find a list of all the shop items here.
All about Credits & Market Price
In Factions Remastered, there is a digital currency called "credits". Another reminder that "credits" are a virtual currency earned through in-game activities, no real money is required. Credits are mostly earned through collecting resources and selling them at the Factions Store (located at spawn). Every time you sell an item, you are given a unique amount of credits dependent on the value of the particular item you're selling and how much of it you sell. The credits that you earn are individual to you. However, your credits are added to a total credits score for your faction; this score is separate and will not affect your own credit total. The total credits score is an indicator of how much credits you, and all your other faction members have collectively. Please note, this score will only update with members of your faction who are online. As an example: I create a faction, and have 2 members in my faction; let's imagine I am online and only 1 of the 2 other members are online. The score shown on the scoreboard will be my credits + the credits of the online member; the credits of the offline member will not be added.
When you visit the Factions Store, you'll notice that the "current cost" is unique to the "base cost", this is because of the market price system. Every new in-game day, the game will generate a new market value percentage, and this value will be used to change the cost of each item you go to purchase in the store. This market price percentage will be any percentage between -12% (meaning you pay less) to +12% (meaning you pay more). The percentage will be different every day, and can not be the same two days in a row (e.g. if the current percentage is "+7%", the percentage the next day can not be "+7%").
Information regarding the Points Store and Points will come soon
All about the World Border
In Factions Remastered, there is actually a limit as to how far away you can go from spawn. Players can not exceed 5,000 blocks in any direction away from spawn. If a player goes past this "border", you'll start taking damage infinitely until you turn back or perish. Whilst outside the border, your movement speed is reduced by 30%. Additionally, you'll be continously prompted to return back to the play area every 5 seconds. If that's not enough, there's an atrocious alarming sound that is played every time the message appears on your screen. The border exists to make it so finding bases or other players is not virtually impossible due to the world technically being "infinite".
All about Events
Events are a new feature to Factions that aim to encourage players to more frequently interact with one another. Whether that be through PvP, raiding each other, or simply aiding one another, the intent remains the same. There are three types of events, these are: PvP events, Raid events, and Weather events.
PvP Events
A PvP event aims to encourage players to go out of their bases and fight each other. During these events, players will not drop items on death, and their location will also be exposed on the locator bar. By exposing the location of all players, players will be encouraged to leave their bases as to not give away its location. This gives players the chance to freely find each other and fight if they so desire. By enabling keep inventory, players will be able to easily jump back into fights and continue participating in the event. The aim with enabling this is to keep the event fun, and lively. Recovering your gear after dying is not particularly fun.
Raid Events
A Raid event aims to encourage players to raid each other. Similar to PvP events, players will have their location exposed on the locator bar. By exposing the location of all players, players are encouraged to seek one another out and raid each others bases. Players can leave their bases as to not expose their base locations, or to raid other bases, though players are still encouraged to allow raids to happen. Raids can be fun, on both sides, defending or attacking. Please remember, it's a game and it's supposed to be fun for everyone. If you're attacking someone, make it fun for the defenders. If you're defending yourself, make it fun for the attackers. Play fair.
Weather Events
A Weather event aims to change the way players experience the world and present new challenges for them to tackle. Weather events are planned for the upcoming week, at the end of the current week. 0 to 2 Weather events can take place each week, 1 Weather event being the most common option. The days in which a Weather event occurs throughout the week are randomised, and so is the type of Weather event that takes place. Once the chosen day(s) have arrived, the game will trigger the Weather event at any time between 6am and 7am (excluding the "Unknown Thunderstorm" type); the Weather events will end at a random time between 9pm and 10pm (excluding the "Unknown Thunderstorm" type). There are 5 types of Weather events: "Clear Weather" (no event), "Light Rain", "Heavy Rain", "Thunderstorm", and "Unknown Thunderstorm".
Clear Weather
This type of weather occurs when there is no Weather event set for the day, it includes no special changes. However, a weather report will still be sent at the start of the day.
Light Rain
This type of weather occurs when the "Light Rain" Weather event is planned for the day. During the event, monsters will be slightly more resilient to incoming damage. The weather is set to "Rain".
Heavy Rain
This type of weather occurs when the "Heavy Rain" Weather event is planned for the day. During the event, monsters will be slightly more resilient to incoming damage and hit a little harder. Players will also walk through mud at a slower pace. The weather is set to "Rain".
Thunderstorm
This type of weather occurs when the "Thunderstorm" Weather event is planned for the day. During the event, monsters will be a fair bit more resilient to incoming damage and hit even harder (both of these effects are stronger than that applied in "Light Rain" or "Heavy Rain". Additionally, arachnids (spiders only), will move at a quicker pace. Players will also walk through mud at a slower pace. The weather is set to "Thunder".
Unknown Thunderstorm
This is a special type of Weather event that rarely occurs. This event can also be referred to as the "Lava Chicken" Weather event. This Weather event will start at 12pm (midday) and last for about 5 minutes in real time. Players will be notified that they should head towards spawn at 11:40pm, it is advisable that players do this. Whilst players are warned 20 in-game minutes before the event starts, it is recommended that players head towards spawn sooner to make sure they arrive on time. The weather report for the day will act as a more advanced warning of this type of weather. Once the event starts, the weather is set to "Thunder".
When this event begins, the "Lava Chicken" soundtrack by Hyper Potions will start playing. Whilst the music is playing, 100 unique items will randomly appear around the spawn area (100 is the item limit for each event). Items are chosen from 4 unique categories, each one designed around the 4 sections of the Factions Store. These categories are: "Foraging" (30% chance), "Mining" (20% chance), "Farming" (30% chance), and "Fighting" (20% chance). Each category has 18 unique items assigned to them, a full list of these items is available here. Every time the game attempts to create an item, a random category will be chosen. After the category has been chosen, a random item from that category will be chosen and then randomly generated within the spawn area. A new item appears every 1.3 seconds. Each item has a different percentage chance of generating, with more valuable items being less common.

Changes/fixes -
Fixed an issue with an internal counter not correctly counting the in-game weeks passed
Slightly lowered how quickly the "Top Factions" leaderboard updates to help with performance
It's still quick enough so that players can get an accurate reading for their score without being as intense on game performance - monitoring other systems for similar issues in hopes of a reduction in, or solution to, game crashes
Slightly lowered how quickly the hotbar interface updates
This should help reduce duplicate interface overlays on the screen which should reduce performance intensity and the likelihood of the game crashing - interface should still update accurately
Lowered the rate at which certain blocks in the Factions Store are automatically fixed if a player interacts with them
Updated the border system to now play an atrocious alarm sound for players who choose to play the game without looking, apparently this is necessary
Changed the spawn chunks ticking area to now preload upon loading the world
This shouldn't affect performance and should also help reduce the chance of game crashes - will monitor
Leather boots given in the starter bundle are now not lost on death
New additions -
Added support for Weather events
Weather events can now take place, which is intended to change the way players experience the world and present new challenges for players to tackle. It is recommended to plan raids, and alike, around weather changes.
There are 5 types of weather. Days without weather, what you're used to, are now addressed as "Clear Weather". The other 4 weather types are: "Light Rain", "Heavy Rain", "Thunderstorm", and "Unknown Thunderstorm".
Weather events are automatically planned at the end of each in-game week, there can be up to 2 Weather events each week.
Planned Weather events are automatically cancelled if there is currently a PvP or Raid event taking place. Cancelled Weather events result in "Clear Weather" for that day.
Players will now be notified with the day's weather at the beginning of each day (midnight, the start of a new day).
Expanded one of the existing sections of the Factions store, this expansion adds 10 new items:
Exposed Copper Block

Changes/fixes -
Fixed an issue with a weather system not disabling itself, preventing other weather events from taking place
Reduced the time it takes for periodic messages to appear during weather events, they should now appear at least twice in a single event
Updated weather events to now show the effect particles for mobs, to make the buffs more apparent and clear
Updated item removal system to now also replace anvils for air, to prevent players using naturally generated anvils
Delayed daily weather reports slightly to prevent potential inaccuracy on Mondays
Changes/fixes -
Expanded the message options for the morning and night messaging system
Expanded the message options for the random messaging system
Made a fix to the random messaging system to fix inaccuracy for any message option above 9 in the message option list
Example: If the randomly chosen message was 10th place in the message options list, the game would display the first option in the list and end the message with a "0", this will no longer happen.
Improved accuracy and efficiency of the spawn detection system for players
This should prevent players still being immune to damage outside of spawn, we wouldn't want more of that!
Corrected the pricing of Diamond Blocks due to an inaccuracy in the calculation of the base value and also raised the price
This change also increases the price of regular Diamonds
New additions -
Added a new section to the Factions Store, this expansion introduces 18 new items:

Changes/fixes -
Fixed an issue with the morning messaging system not working
Fixed an issue with the random messaging system incorrectly displaying messages
The system that automatically fixes certain blocks in the Factions Store will now only trigger once at the end of each in-game day instead of every 0.4 seconds
This should help with lag as there are less blocks being continuously placed and a reduction of duplicate structure placement requests being sent
This does mean that certain blocks can be interacted with in the store and therefore have their appearance changed, make sure to check the item information to ensure you're purchasing/selling the correct item
Updated the system that automatically fixes certain blocks in the Factions Store to now fix the blocks in the expansion that was added in version 2.3.0
